'Kalki 2898 AD', Starring Prabhas And Deepika Padukone, To Release On This Date
The release date for the much-anticipated 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, is out!
The Indian film industry is known to come up with movies across various genres, however, it is fair to say that there are very few movies in India that have science-fiction as a major plot point. Looks like, all is going to change come May 2024. Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD' has finally gotten a release date, and the pan-India film will be releasing in cinemas on May 9, 2024. The makers of the film confirmed the release date on Friday. The makers also unveiled a new poster, which showcases Prabhas as a saviour.
Prabhas shared the poster, and release date on his Instagram, and he captioned the post as, "The countdown to the future has begun! #Kalki2898AD in theatres worldwide on 9th May 2024."

As per Variety, the release date was unveiled across Varanasi, Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Bhimavaram, Kashmir and Vijayawada by actors in the raider costumes featured in the film
Apart from Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, the Nag Ashwin-directorial also stars Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani.
As per several reports, 'Kalki 2898 AD', which was earlier called 'Project K', also stars Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli and Rana Daggubati.
Last year, Prabhas and Kamal Haasan had unveiled the first glimpse from the film at the event titled ‘This is Project K: First Glimpse of India’s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic’.
The clip of 'Kalki 2898 AD' showcased a war-torn world in the future, where people are being ruled by dark forces and technology.
"When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will arise. The end begins now," the clip stated.
In the clip, we can see Deepika Padukone's character being caught up in an emotional turmoil. On the other hand, Prabhas seems to be playing a brave warrior who is trying to save the world.
Amitabh Bachchan's character is shown to be playing a warrior draped in bandages. One can also see the influence of Star Wars and Marvel movies in the teaser.
Reportedly, the budget of the film is believed to be around Rs 700 crore and it will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
