'Breathe: Into The Shadows' actress Nithya Menen has dismissed reports, which claimed that she was harassed by a Tamil actor. For the unversed, a verified Instagram page posted a report, which quoted the actress as saying that she was harassed by a Tamil hero. The post in question read, "I have never faced any problems in Telugu industry but I have faced a lot of problems in Tamil industry. A Tamil hero harassed me while shooting for a film."

The false report was then picked up by many publications and the news went viral on social media.

In the latest entertainment news, Nithya Menen has reacted to the report, expressing her shock at the false claim.

Sharing the report on social media, Nithya said, "It’s very sad that certain sections of journalism have come down to this. I urge you – Be Better than this."

In another post, she said, "We are all here for such a short period of time. It always surprises me how much wrong we do to each other. I point this out today because only accountability stops bad behaviour."

In an earlier interview, Nithya Menen had said that she has not faced sexual harassment during work.

Commenting on the #MeToo Movement, the actor said, “I completely understand the thing that people are facing. I do everything possible to counter it. Just because I am not doing it one way, doesn’t mean that I am not countering those things or I am not against it. I am, but I have a different approach."

Nithya Menen had also admitted that she once walked out of a project as someone involved was accused of sexual misconduct.

“I do it, but I do it silently. I have said ‘no’ to a film because of something like that," she said.
