“Didi Se Blunder Ho Gya”: Netizens Troll Priyanka Chopra As She Calls RRR “Tamil Movie” While Correcting Interviewer
Priyanka Chopra was schooled by netizens after she said that ‘RRR’ is a “Tamil movie” while correcting host Dax Shepard, who called it a “Bollywood” film.
Priyanka Chopra’s recent conversation with American actor-interviewer Dex Shepard on his podcast Armchair Expert has gone viral online and has been making headlines all over. During her podcast appearance, PeeCee opened up about the reason why she left Bollywood. She also talked about discrimination in the industry. Amid all this, people are schooling Priyanka Chopra for another instance from the podcast, where she made a big gaffe by calling SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ a “Tamil” movie.
Interestingly, Priyanka Chopra has been a big cheerleader for ‘RRR’ and even hosted one of the film’s lead actors, Ram Charan and his wife Upasana, at her residence in Los Angeles.
It’s quite ironic that after her close association with ‘RRR’, Priyanka tried to correct Dax Shepard’s goof-up by making a big gaffe herself.
Many disappointed netizens took to Twitter to school Priyanka Chopra for her goof-up and remind her that ‘RRR’ is a Telugu movie.
Check out some of the reactions to the gaffe below:

For the unversed, while talking about Bollywood, Dax Shepard compared it to Hollywood of the ‘50s where a few big stars and studios controlled everything.
Priyanka replied, “I don’t think you are far from it. I think that was what it was… big studios, five actors… big movies will be made by them; but the game is changed so much now. First of all, it’s streaming. It has given access to so many people who are making content.”
She added, “Bollywood has evolved in such an incredible way. You have the mainstream big action and the love story and the dancing…” When Dax interrupted her saying, “RRR…”, Priyanka quickly corrected him saying, “That’s a Tamil movie by the way.”
She went on, “It’s like big, mega, blockbuster Tamil which does all of those… it’s like our Avengers.”
SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ is neither a Bollywood film nor is it a Tamil film, it is a Telugu epic period drama starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been a great supporter of ‘RRR’ ever since the film was submitted at the Oscars. She even attended the screening of the movie in the US and gave a shout-out to it.
Later, sharing a picture with SS Rajamouli and MM Keeravani, she wrote on Twitter, “Least I can do to contribute to this incredible Indian film’s journey. Good luck and congratulations @RRRMovie.”

Priyanka Chopra has also acted alongside Ram Charan in his Bollywood debut ‘Zanjeer’. Interestingly, Priyanka’s first film as an actress was in Tamil, titled ‘Tamizhan’, starring Vijay in the lead role.
Coming back to ‘RRR’, it scripted history after bagging the Oscar for Best Original Song for its popular song ‘Naatu Naatu’.
During the Oscars 2023 ceremony, its host Jimmy Kimmel called ‘RRR’ a Bollywood movie in his opening monologue. The statement attracted a lot of reactions and left Telugu cinema fans furious.
