Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 171' To Be Directed By 'Vikram' Director Lokesh Kanagaraj
It has been confirmed that Rajinikanth's next film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The speculation was indeed true! Ever since Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' released, there were rumours that Lokesh Kanagaraj would be directing superstar Rajinikanth next. In the latest entertainment news, Sun Pictures on Monday confirmed that Lokesh Kanagaraj would indeed be helming Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 171'. The official X handle of Sun Pictures confirmed the news. Anirudh Ravichander who has previously worked with Lokesh in 'Vikram' and 'Leo', will be composing the music for the film. Anirudh Ravichander had delivered a smash-hit album and background score for Rajinikanth's last film 'Jailer' as well.

Stunt choreographer duo Anbu-Arivu has also been roped in for the film. No other details regarding the project have been revealed yet.
Lokesh Kanagaraj's next film 'Leo' will be releasing in October this year, and it stars none other than Thalapathy Vijay. The director also has 'Kaithi 2' and 'Vikram 2' in the pipeline.
It is being speculated that 'Leo' and 'Thalaivar 171' are going to be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which will bring together all the superstars of Tamil cinema.
Talking about Sun Pictures, the production house is currently celebrating the success of 'Jailer', which has made more than Rs 500 crore worldwide.
Kalanithi Maran, the owner of Sun Pictures, had recently gifted luxury cars to superstar Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander for making 'Jailer' a blockbuster.
Recently, a success meet was also held and gold coins were gifted to all the crew members who were associated with 'Jailer'.
