Rana Daggubati opens up about his equation with fellow Telugu stars Ram Charan and Allu Arjun.

Rana Daggubati, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, is celebrated for his versatile talent as an actor. He made his mark in the Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil film industries with memorable performances. Rana Daggubati gained international recognition for his role as Bhallaladeva in the epic ‘Baahubali’ film series directed by SS Rajamouli. While he puts in a lot of hard work, Rana recently revealed that constructive criticism from fellow Telugu stars Ram Charan and Allu Arjun also helps him to better his projects.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Rana Daggubati revealed how he along with Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, engage in constructive criticism of their films. Yes, you read that right! These South actors have no ego despite being super successful at the box office.

Rana Daggubati said the three actors are not “running same the race” and added that the trio deep dive into their movies and dissect each and every aspect, always trying to improve their projects.

Rana Daggubati said, “We’re not running the same race. We’re running very different races. Everybody has a different cinema that they pick. Everybody has seen success in a very different form. What are we competing on? It’s a certain number at the box office. That is the only actual tangible thing. But there are so many other aspects we’ll be trying to work on.”

“I’ll tell you about Allu Arjun because it’s a recent conversation. The conversation is, ‘What else could we do better in Pushpa 1 that we did not do?’ Like, you’re constantly breaking your own product. They meet months after the film is done, successful, not successful, but they’ll still be talking about where did we go wrong. Those are conversations that really help us grow very much,” he added.

Rana Daggubati also said that once a film releases and is out in the world, say after a duration of 30-40 days, discussions about its making, outcome become “very productive”.

“We’ve been in this place for so long. I’m just not talking about the three of us. Whether I pick actors like Nani, Adivi Sesh, all of them who make cinema very different from each other. All of us have had that conversation at some point or the other in life,” Rana Daggubati added.

He further said, “I remember, Adivi Sesh walked into my room in Goa when we were at the film festival. He said, ‘Why are you not doing enough films? I really like what you do, but you’re not doing enough.’ I said, ‘Okay, great, fine!’ He was like, ‘I’ll start writing for you. In one year, I’ll come.’ If you like somebody, that’s the energy you throw out at them.”

Meanwhile, on the work, Rana Daggubati will be next seen in a pan-India film, inspired by an Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) comic. He is touted to play a character based on the demon king Hiranyakashyap. It is backed by his VFX and production company Spirit Media.
