'Salaar' Postponed, Prabhas-Starrer To Not Release On September 28: Report
Prabhas-starrer 'Salaar' has been postponed.
Prabhas' fans were eagerly waiting for 'Salaar' directed by Prashanth Neel to release on September 28, 2023. However, in the latest entertainment news, we have some sad news for you. As per a news report in Pinkvilla, 'Salaar' has been postponed indefinitely, and it will now not be releasing on September 28. The reason behind this decision is the pending post-production work. The Pinkvilla report also stated that 'Salaar' might now release in December 2023 or January 2024.
"Salaar holds a prominent position among the big films emerging from India, and the creators are determined to meet the high expectations of fans and moviegoers. Unfortunately, the film is not yet ready and requires additional time for post-production. Consequently, Prabhas, Prashant Neel, and their team collectively agreed to postpone the movie from its original September 28 release date," Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
"The distributors in the USA and India have also been notified about it, while the USA’s bookings will be canceled and refunds will be issued. The makers will finalize a new date and make an official announcement soon,” the source sadded.
'Salaar' advance booking had already opened in the USA, now it needs to be seen how the things proceed ahead.
Apart from Prabhas, 'Salaar' also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Sriya Reddy, and others.
The teaser of 'Salaar' was released on July 7. An important reveal in the teaser was that there is a second part to 'Salaar' as the upcoming movie is called 'Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire'. The teaser also featured a shot of Prithviraj Sukumaran as the main villain.
'Salaar' is the Telugu movie debut of Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran. Hombale Films has produced the movie. The movie will be releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Apart from 'Salaar', Prabhas also has 'Kalki 2898 AD' in the pipeline. The Nag Ashwin-directorial also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani.
