Prabhas Salaar
'Salaar' has been officially postponed. Here's what the makers said.

Prabhas was last seen in the 2023 Indian mythological action film ‘Adipurush’. The movie, also starring Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, was based on the Indian epic 'Ramayana'. However, the Prabhas-led movie turned out to be a box office dud as it was reported to be made on a budget of Rs 600 crore and couldn’t even recover its budget. ‘Adipurush’ minted nearly Rs 305 crore in India and Rs 353 crores worldwide. Prabhas was set to come out with another release this year – ‘Salaar’ and fans have been eagerly waiting for the film.

However, Prabhas fans will have to wait a little longer to watch him on the big screen again. His next release, ‘Salaar’, has officially been postponed and the new release date is yet to be announced.

‘Salaar Part 1- Ceasefire’, which is an action entertainer, was supposed to release on September 28, 2023. But recently, there were rumours that ‘Salaar’ will be postponed. And now those rumours have been proven true. Recently, the movie’s production company, Hombale Films, officially announced that the release of ‘Salaar’ has been delayed.

Check out Homable Films’ official statement below:

The production house said in the statement that the delay in the release is only because they want to “meet the high standards” and deliver an “exceptional cinematic experience” to the viewers.

Another rumour is doing the rounds that ‘Salaar’ will be released on November 10 or 24 if the production of the film is completed as planned.

Besides Prabhas, ‘Salaar’ also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sriya Reddy and Eshwari Rao.

Salaar, the pan-India action thriller directed by Prashanth Neel of ‘KGF’ fame, has been in the works for almost two years. It was revealed in the first teaser of the film that there is a second part to ‘Salaar’ because the upcoming film is titled ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’.

The teaser also gave glimpses of the thrilling action from the extensive universe created by director Prashanth Neel.

After ‘Salaar’, Prabhas will return to the silver screen with another big-budget film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, co-starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.
