Suriya 44: Actor Steals The Show As Gangster In New Promo. Watch
To celebrate Suriya's 49th birthday, the makers of 'Suriya 44' shared a teaser, showcasing the actor's look as a gangster.
Tamil superstar Suriya is celebrating his 49th birthday, and in the latest entertainment news, to mark this occasion, director Karthik Subbaraj on Tuesday morning treated fans of the actor to a special video from their upcoming film, tentatively titled 'Suriya 44'. The teaser gives us a glimpse into Suriya's character as a gangster. In the video, an army of goons can be seen following the actor. The video begins with the text "somewhere in the sea", and we are then shown scenes of goons standing on either side of a place called "royal estate".
The 1-minute-37-second promo shows Suriya, who has blood smeared on his face. We see him smoking a cigarette and wielding a gun in an outdoor setting with his men around him.
Sharing the promo on X (formerly Twitter), Karthik Subbaraj wrote, "Happy Birthday @Suriya_offl sir. From Team Suriya 44."

For the unversed, in June 2024, the makers of 'Suriya 44' had announced the start of filming, as they shared a glimpse of Suriya's retro look.
In 'Suriya 44', the actor plays a gangster. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Karunakaran, and Joju George.
In July 2024, after shooting for almost a month in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Pooja Hegde had also shared a post as she wrapped up the first schedule of 'Suriya 44'.
On the work front, Suriya will next be seen in 'Kanguva', alongside Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The pan-India film is slated to be released in cinemas on October 10, 2024.
