"Drugs Leta Hai?": Kapil Sharma Recalls What Shah Rukh Khan Asked Him When He Cancelled Shoot At Last Minute
Kapil Sharma talked about the time when he was battling depression and anxiety, and how Shah Rukh Khan counseled him in his car.
Comedian Kapil Sharma is awaiting the release of his upcoming movie titled 'Zwigato' where he is playing a food-delivery agent. Ahead of the new Hindi Bollywood movie release, Kapil Sharma is on a promotional spree and he is giving interviews left, right and centre. However, it was in his interview with Aaj Tak, where he totally let his guard down and spoke about the time when he battled alcoholism which led to him having depression and anxiety.
He also spoke about a time when he just did not want to leave his home and go to work. During the interview, he was asked if any of the big Bollywood stars who appeared on his show 'The Kapil Sharma Show', took offence when he failed to show up on time.
It was then that he recalled how 'Pathaan' star Shah Rukh Khan reacted when Kapil Sharma ended up cancelling a shoot with him at the last moment.
“When you’re drunk, you’re confident, but when you’re sober, the reality hits you. My fault is that I used to drink to make myself feel better," Kapil Sharma said in the interview, as reported by The Indian Express.
“Nobody got angry. The format of my show is such that I cannot be late even if I tried. We have to shoot multiple segments throughout the day… But yes, there were times when I backed out at the last moment because I didn’t think I could go through with it… When Shah Rukh Khan’s shoot got cancelled, he met me three or four days later. He had come to the same studio for something. Maybe, as an artist, he understood what was happening," he added.
Further talking about the same, Kapil Sharma said: "He is a superstar, after all, and he has seen everything in this industry. He called me to his car, and we sat for an hour, and talked. He asked me, ‘Drugs leta hai?‘. I told him I don’t take drugs, but I no longer feel like working. He told me some very nice things and counselled me. But this is one of those situations that you can’t improve unless you yourself want to."
Talking about Kapil Sharma, he will be seen in Nandita Das' new Hindi Bollywood movie 'Zwigato'.
The Nandita Das-directorial 'Zwigato' will release in theatres on March 17.
The new Hindi Bollywood movie has been jointly produced by Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment and Nandita Das Initiatives.
Previously, Kapil Sharma has starred in Bollywood movies like 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' and 'Firangi'.
