KBC 15: 14-Year-Old Mayank Scripts History, Becomes Youngest Crorepati
'Kaun Banega Crorepati 15': 14-year-old Mayank has become the youngest crorepati on the show. Wow! What an achievement.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is busy hosting the 15th season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', and the game show recently crowned its youngest-ever crorepati as 14-year-old Haryana boy named Mayank ended up winning Rs 1 crore. The episode was a part of the special KBC Juniors Week. For the unversed, Mayank hails from Mahendragarh, Haryana and he was featured on the show in Tuesday's episode.
Mayank, who is currently in Class 8, did not take a single lifeline till the questions amounting to Rs 3.2 lakh. The youngster used his first lifeline for the Rs 12.5 lakh question.
Now, you would be wondering what was the Rs 1 crore question. The query was "Which European Cartographer is credited with creating the map that has the name America to the newly discovered continent?”
The options given to him were -- A- Abraham Ortelius, B- Geradus Mercator, C- Giovanni Battista Agnese, and D- Martin Waldseemüller.
The correct answer was Option D. As soon as Mayank gave the right answer, he was in tears as he became the first junior contestant to win Rs 1 crore.
Mayank then attempted to answer the Rs 7 crore question, however, he was not able to answer it, and in turn, he opted to quit the game.
The 14-year-old has also been congratulated by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar.
