"Foolish Not To...": Arshad Warsi On Whether 'Asur' Would Return For Season 3
Arshad Warsi opened up on his decision to do 'Asur' and he also weighed in on whether the show would return for the third season.
Fans were eagerly waiting to see the second season of Arshad Warsi-starrer 'Asur'. The makers finally dropped the much-awaited second installment earlier this month, and the show has managed to achieve positive word of mouth from both critics and audiences. For the unversed, the star cast of 'Asur 2' comprises Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Riddhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Gaurav Arora and Meiyang Chang.
The plot of 'Asur' revolves around a team of forensic experts who are trying to catch a serial killer, who considers himself as a reincarnation of the asura Kali.
Now, in the latest entertainment news, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Arshad Warsi opened up on his decision to do a show for streaming.
"I really thought it was one of the most enticing scripts that I've heard. The combo of taking something absolutely different - science and mythology, which are diametrically opposite and putting them together and making sense of it was a nice thing. It was a deeply researched script," said Arshad Warsi.
When the actor was further asked if he knew there would be a second season, when he was filming the first, the actor said that one cannot be sure of the next part until the first one works.
During the interview, he also admitted to telling the makers to work on part 3 while filming part 2 because the people won't wait too long for the third installment.
When asked whether there would be a season 3 to the popular series: "It would be foolish to not make it (season 3). If you are watching a series and you are enjoying it, you want closure. You want to see what happens in the end. If someone shuts the film 30 minutes before the end, I'd kill them. Somewhere down the line, you have to make it."
