‘Jolly LLB 3’ Advance Booking Crosses Rs 1 Crore With Two Days To Go
‘Jolly LLB 3’ has already amassed Rs 1.04 crore in advance booking collections as of Wednesday morning.
Subhash Kapoor’s much-awaited legal comedy-drama ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is all set to release in theatres on September 19, and the buzz around the film is already translating into solid numbers at the box office. Starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles, the film opened its advance bookings this week and has registered a strong response with two days still left for release. Trade experts suggest that, based on reviews and word of mouth, the film is likely to open strongly not just on Friday but across the weekend as well.
According to trade portal Sacnilk, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ has already amassed Rs 1.04 crore in advance booking collections as of Wednesday morning. In total, 34,310 tickets have been sold across 4,231 shows nationwide. If we add block seats into the mix, then the number soars up to Rs 2.58 crore for its opening day.
Interestingly, the Delhi circuit has shown the highest traction so far with Rs 37.53 lakh collected, outperforming Maharashtra, which has contributed Rs 23.58 lakh. Even the Telangana market has shown promise with early collections of Rs 1.91 lakh.
With two more days to go before the release, these numbers are only expected to climb further, giving the film a good chance of opening in double digits on day one. The franchise itself has a strong track record: the first film, ‘Jolly LLB’ (2013), grossed Rs 46 crore worldwide, while its sequel ‘Jolly LLB 2’ (2017) scaled new heights with a worldwide collection of Rs 197.33 crore.
Naturally, expectations from the third installment are high, with trade circles anticipating it could surpass the earlier films.
What makes ‘Jolly LLB 3’ particularly special is that it brings together both versions of Jolly – the lawyers played by Arshad Warsi in the first film and Akshay Kumar in the second. Adding to the excitement is Saurabh Shukla, reprising his much-loved role as Judge Tripathi.
True to the franchise’s legacy, the film promises to deliver sharp satire on pressing social issues. The trailer, which released a few days ago, teased a high-stakes courtroom battle between the two Jollys, centring around the encroachment of farmland by powerful and influential figures.
The film also boasts a stellar supporting cast including Amrita Rao, Huma Qureshi, Seema Biswas, Gajraj Rao, and Ram Kapoor. Backed by producers Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is shaping up to be both a socially relevant drama and a commercial entertainer.
