After backlash, 'Adipurush' makers to change some dialogues in the movie.

Om Raut's latest directorial 'Adipurush' which is said to be based on the epic 'Ramayana' has become a subject of huge controversy. The movie is being bashed left, right, and centre for the poor VFX usage and questionable dialogues like "jali na" and "tel tere baap ka". Fans are fuming over the controversial dialogues given to the character of Lord Hanuman in the movie. Hashtags like #BoycottBollywood, #BoycottAdipurush, #BanAdipurush, #AdipurushDisaster, and #ShameOnManojMuntashir are trending on Twitter.

Now, in the latest entertainment news, 'Adipurush' dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla has confirmed that certain dialogues would be changed in the movie after taking feedback from fans. In his statement on Twitter, Manoj Muntashir also said that he has been judged on the basis of five lines out of 4,000.

“The first lesson one can learn from Ramkatha is to respect every emotion. Right or wrong, time changes, and feeling remains. I wrote dialogues of more than 4000 lines in Adipurush, some sentiments got hurt because of five lines. In those hundreds of lines, where Shri Ram was glorified, Maa Sita’s chastity was described, praise was also to be received for her, which I don’t know why I did not get," he wrote in Hindi.

“My own brothers wrote indecent words for me on social media. The same people, for whose respected mothers I read poems many times on TV, addressed my own mother with indecent words. I kept thinking, there can be differences, but where did my brothers suddenly get so bitter that they forgot to see Shri Ram who considered every mother as his mother. Sitting at the feet of Shabri, as if sitting at the feet of Kaushalya. It is possible that in a 3-hour film, I have written something different from your imagination for 3 minutes, but I could not know why you were in such a hurry to write Sanatan-Drohi on my forehead. Have you not heard the song ‘Jai Shri Ram’? Didn’t hear ‘Shivoham’, haven’t heard ‘Ram Siya Ram’? These praises of Sanatan in Adipurush are also born from my pen. I have also written ‘Teri Mitti’ and ‘Desh Mere’," he added.

Further in his statement, he said: "I have no complaint with you, you were, are and will be my own. If we stand against each other, Sanatan will lose. We have created Adipurush for Sanatan Seva, which you are seeing in large numbers and I am sure you will see in future as well. Why this post? Because for me there is nothing greater than your feeling. I can give countless arguments in favour of my dialogues, but this will not reduce your pain. Me and the producer-director of the film have decided that some of the dialogues which are hurting you, We’ll revise them, and they’ll be added to the film this week. May Shri Ram bless you all!”

Earlier, Manoj Muntashir Shukla had clarified that 'Adipurush' is not a direct adaptation of 'Ramayana' and it only draws inspiration from it. His comment came after the movie was being bashed by audiences on Twitter.

"The name of the film is Adipurush. Let me be clear about two things, we have not made Ramayana, we were only inspired by it. Even if you see our disclaimer, we were very clear about it. It would have been easy for us to name the film Ramayana, keeping in mind the marketing strategies," Manoj Muntashir told Aaj Tak.

"But we knew from the beginning that we are only heavily inspired by the Ramayana, but we are not making Ramayana. We just made a small chunk of the battle fought in the Ramayana," he added.

Despite negative reviews, 'Adipurush' has been doing well at the box office. On Friday, the movie collected Rs 37.25 crore in Hindi version, and on Saturday, 'Adipurush' collected Rs 38 crore, taking the 2-day total to Rs 75.25 crore. Worldwide, the movie has grossed Rs 240 crore in just two days, as per the producers' T-Series.

In 'Adipurush', Prabhas is playing the character of Raghav, who is inspired by Rama while Kriti Sanon is portraying Janaki, inspired by Sita.

Saif Ali Khan is playing Lankesh, inspired by Ravana.
