The advance booking of 'Adipurush' has officially begun. The movie which stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, Devdatta Nage and Saif Ali Khan, is one of the most-anticipated projects of 2023, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how Om Raut has told the story of 'Ramayana. In the film, Prabhas is playing Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon is playing Sita while Saif Ali Khan is portraying the role of Raavan (Lankesh).

'Adipurush' will be releasing in 3D across the globe on June 16. Before the release, the movie would have its international premiere at the 2023 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on June 13.

The official handle of Box Office Worldwide on Sunday tweeted that 'Adipurush' has already sold more than 25,000 tickets in advance bookings and it is set for minimum 4 lakh ticket sales by Thursday midnight.

"#EXCLUSIVE: Adipurush Sells 25,000 Tickets In Advance Bookings In One Day Across National Chains, Set For Minimum 4 Lacs Ticket Sales By Thursday Midnight! Huge Opening On Cards," the handle tweeted.

Now, it needs to be seen whether 'Adipurush' manages to break the record of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham-starrer 'Pathaan' in terms of all-time highest advance booking numbers for a Hindi film.

'Pathaan' had sold 5.56 lakh tickets in advance bookings while 'WAR' starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff had sold 4.04 lakh tickets.

When one talks about Indian films, the record for highest all-time advance booking belongs to 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' as the SS Rajamouli-directorial had sold 6.50 lakh tickets.

Yash-starrer 'KGF 2' had also sold 5.05 lakh tickets.

The 'Adipurush' teaser came out last year, however, it did not meet expectations as netizens slammed the makers for questionable VFX effects.

‘Adipurush’ had earlier courted controversy, including boycott calls, when many objected to the depiction of Hindu deities and inferior quality of visual effects in the teaser of the film launched in October.

The magnum opus, slated to hit the theatres in IMAX and 3D, will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
