Adipurush fails the Monday Test
Amidst "negative word of mouth", 'Adipurush' has crashed at the box office.

The mega-budget 'Adipurush', based on the epic 'Ramayana', has crashed at the box office. The new Hindi movie, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Devdatta Nage and Sunny Singh, failed the Monday test as it witnessed a drop in collections by a whopping 75 per cent. As per a report in Box Office India, the Hindi collections were in the range of Rs 8-9 crore net on Monday.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that the "negative word of mouth" has come into play, and hence 'Adipurush' collapsed on Monday.

"THE NEGATIVE WORD OF MOUTH HAS COME INTO PLAY…After a strong opening weekend, #Adipurush COLLAPSES on Monday. #Hindi version. #India biz," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The four-day collection of 'Adipurush' in the Hindi version now stands at Rs 113 crore net. As per trade estimates, 'Adipurush' might now even struggle to cross Kartik Aaryan's 2022 blockbuster 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Adipurush's all-India collection (net) for Monday was Rs 20 crore. For the unversed, the movie had an opening of Rs 93 crore across all languages in India, with Hindi net being around Rs 37 crore.

'Adipurush' has been made on a massive budget of more than Rs 500 crore so it is safe to say that the T-Series backed production will be losing a significant amount of money at the box office.

The makers of 'Adipurush' on Sunday had announced that they would be changing certain controversial dialogues after they received backlash for "disrespecting" the Ramayana.

'Adipurush' now marks the third box office disappointment in a row for Prabhas, who has struggled to match the success of SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali'.

He had previously starred in 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Saaho', and both these big-budget movies crashed at the box office.
