For the unversed, a three-judge bench headed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud will be hearing the suo motu case on the rape and murder case. This development comes days after the probe into the case was transferred to the CBI.

A 31-year-old postgraduate doctor was allegedly raped and murdered inside a seminar hall of the hospital on August 9. Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer, was then arrested in the case.
