Govinda Says His Twitter Account "Hacked" After Being Trolled For Post On Gurugram Violence
Actor Govinda has claimed that a recent tweet posted from his Twitter account about the recent violence in Haryana wasn't his doing.
Actor Govinda has claimed that a recent tweet posted from his Twitter account about the recent violence in Haryana wasn't his doing. The 'Partner' actor has said that his Twitter account was hacked, and he has been a victim of a conspiracy. He also added that he barely understands Twitter, now rebranded as 'X', and has no interest in joining politics. “I don’t even know how these social media things like Twitter operate. I haven’t tweeted for ages. That was not my tweet at all. My account has been hacked and I will inform the Cyber Crime Police so that they can look into this,” Govinda told The Times of India.
"It’s been 18 years since I quit politics, I won’t slyly tweet to get back into it. This sort of fake news is dangerous as it can lead to people making assumptions about me. Mujhe Haryana mein shows na mile, kaam na mile... maybe someone has an ulterior motive. Logon ko khapta nahi aisa insaan jisko har jagah prem mile. I want people to keep me out of their politics and agendas. Na main kisike politics mein gaya, na mujhe kisika support mila. Meri films ko theatres nahi mile. I have suffered enough," he added.
The actor has also put out a video on Instagram, saying he did not post any tweet and his account was hacked.
In the video, he said: "Please do not attribute this Haryana tweet to me, as I have not done this. Somebody has hacked my account. I am just doing a complaint to the cybercrime department now. I will look into the matter."
On Wednesday, a tweet was put out from Govinda's account, in which he had seemingly given a reaction to the mob violence take took place in Haryana.
The tweet read: "What have we come down to? Shame on the people who call themselves Hindus and do such things. Aman aur shanti banaye, hum democracy hai, autocracy nahi."
The actor was then brutally trolled on social media, and minutes later, the account was deleted.
For the uninitiated, Govinda had served as an MP between 2004 and 2009, under the Indian National Congress (INC).
