'Adipurush' has been one of the most anticipated projects of Indian cinema for a very long time now. The Om Raut-directorial was postponed on two occasions and the first teaser received backlash for poor VFX. Finally, the day came when the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan-starrer released in theatres and it looks like movie goers seem to be completely miffed. 'Adipurush' has been receiving negative reviews from all corners, and the shoddy VFX are being called out. #BoycottAdipurush is also trending on Twitter.

Several users are calling 'Adipurush' as a "mockery of Hindu beliefs."

Here are some of the reactions:

In the movie 'Adipurush', Prabhas is playing Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon is essaying the role of Sita while Saif Ali Khan is portraying Raavan (Lankesh). Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage are portraying the roles of Lakshman and Lord Hanuman respectively.

Earlier, the makers of 'Adipurush' had confirmed that the new Hindi movie would be having its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 13. However, as per reports, the movie was not played at the prestigious Festival.

The 'Adipurush' teaser came out last year, however, it did not meet expectations as netizens slammed the makers for questionable VFX effects. After that, the release date was postponed from January 2023 to July 2023.

‘Adipurush’ had earlier courted controversy, including boycott calls, when many objected to the depiction of Hindu deities and inferior quality of visual effects in the teaser of the film launched in October.

The magnum opus, has hit the theatres in IMAX and 3D, and it has released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
