“Inhumane, Cowardly Act”: Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Allu Arjun And Others Condemn Pahalgam Terror Attack
Several Indian celebrities such as Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra came forward to condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam.
The nation is in shock after a devastating terror attack rocked the serene region of Pahalgam in Kashmir on Tuesday. In a brutal incident, terrorists opened fire at a popular meadow, leaving 26 people dead in what is being called the deadliest attack in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack. Several Indian celebrities such as Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra have now come forward to condemn the ghastly attack, demanding justice for the victims and their families. Out of the 26 people dead, mostly were tourists.
Akshay Kumar took to X (formerly Twitter) to say, “Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families.”
Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram Stories to demand justice for the victims and their families. He wrote, “Can’t imagine the pain of the family members of those who lost their loved ones in the absolute inhumane act of terrorism in Pahalgam. My deepest condolences and prayers. Hope the culprits behind this heinous act are brought to justice.”
‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun expressed his anger and anguish on social media, saying, “Soo heart broken by #Pahalgam Attack . Such a beautiful place with kind hearted people . Condolences to all the families, near and dear of the victims. May their innocent souls rest in peace. Truly Heart breaking.”
Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram Stories to say, “Beyond heartbroken for the victims and their families. Praying for the lives lost.”
Sidharth Malhotra, best known for his work in ‘Shershaah’, wrote on Instagram Stories, “The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir is a cowardly act. I have full faith in our armed forces and I’m sure they will do the needful and ensure justice. My prayers and thoughts are with the families of the innocent victims. Jai Hind!”
Indian actress Janhvi Kapoor was at a “loss of words” after finding out about the heart breaking development in Kashmir. “Shocked and heart broken for the innocent lives lost in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Cowardly, trigger happy, soullessly conditioned monsters on a mission to carry out barbaric acts of injustice in the misinformed guise of duty,” she wrote.
“I pray for justice but i fear this time nothing will be enough to quell this seething anger caused by such repeated acts of terror and evil. Praying for the souls we lost and their families. Your people are with you. We mourn with you. May gods strength see you through this unimaginable pain,” she added.
Other celebrities such as Mohanlal, Farhan Akhtar, Anupam Kher, Kamal Haasan also took to social media to condemn the act, asking for harsh punishment for the culprits.
For the unversed, the incident took place around 3 pm. According to several reports, the terrorists rushed down from the mountain in Baisaran valley to start firing at tourists who visit the place, which is often dubbed as 'mini Switzerland'.
Following this attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and decided to return to India.
