Could Paresh Rawal Return To 'Hera Pheri 3'? His Tweet Adds Fuel To The Fire
Paresh Rawal responded to a fan's plea, urging him to reconsider his decision to exit Priyadarshan's ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
Paresh Rawal’s iconic portrayal of Baburao in ‘Hera Pheri’ became a defining moment in Indian cinema, earning him a lasting place in the hearts of fans. Over the years, ‘Hera Pheri’ has achieved cult status, with the trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal becoming one of the most beloved onscreen teams. Fans were thrilled at the announcement of ‘Hera Pheri 3’, hoping for the return of the iconic trio. However, Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit from the project last month left fans shocked and disheartened.
The announcement came as a huge shock, especially with ‘Hera Pheri 3’ expected to mark Paresh’s long-awaited reunion with Akshay and Suniel as Baburao, Raju, and Shyam, respectively. The news of Paresh’s departure created a wave of disappointment among fans, many of whom struggled to imagine the franchise without the veteran actor who brought Baburao to life with his impeccable comic timing. Fans were vocal in expressing their hope that Paresh would reconsider, but the veteran actor’s decision seemed final.
Recently, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) posted an emotional plea, tagging Paresh Rawal and urging him to reconsider his exit. The fan wrote, Sir please think once again to join HERA FERI movie. You are the hero of this movie.”
Paresh’s response, however, left fans even more confused. He simply replied, “NO … There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri,” acknowledging his role alongside Akshay and Suniel.

The veteran actor’s tweet sparked a variety of reactions from fans. One user wrote, “Those three Heroes not equivalent to You sir.”
Another one added, “Kabhi kabhi apne personal grudge ko side mai rakh ke, fans ke liye kuch karna chahiye. Can't imagine hera pheri three 3 without you.”
A third user commented, “Sir, Hera Pheri without you is unimaginable! Please come back and bless us with your unforgettable comic genius once again. The trio is incomplete without our beloved Baburao!”
“I believe the biggest hero is The Story. If it delivers a Good Story it will get the Reward even if Babu bhaiya is Not part of it. Just see the Example of Dhamal, First one was good, But repeating the Same story second time was foolish and they failed miserably in doing that. Double dhamal and Total Dhamal both Failed,” one user wrote.
Some even speculated that Paresh Rawal’s exit might be part of a publicity stunt and that he might return to the project soon.
When Paresh Rawal initially confirmed his exit, rumours circulated about creative differences with the makers of the film. However, the actor dismissed such speculations by tweeting, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER . I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director.”
Director Priyadarshan, also caught off guard by Paresh Rawal’s exit, revealed that the actor hadn’t informed anyone prior to his decision. Priyadarshan noted that contracts had already been signed, and a promo had even been shot for ‘Hera Pheri 3’. He shared that Akshay, visibly emotional, had tears in his eyes when he learned of Paresh’s departure.
The drama didn’t end there. Reports surfaced shortly after Paresh’s exit that Akshay Kumar’s production banner, Cape of Good Films, sent a Rs 25 crore legal notice to Paresh Rawal for walking out of the film after signing a contract and beginning shoot. The notice accused Paresh Rawal of “grossly unprofessional conduct”.
In response to the same, Paresh Rawal tweeted, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”
Reportedly, Paresh Rawal has already returned the signing amount with 15 per cent interest.
The ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise began in 2000 and quickly turned into a cult comedy classic thanks to its hilarious dialogues and iconic trio. The second film, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ (2006), though not as critically loved, was a commercial hit.
