Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol, is one of the most-anticipated projects in Indian cinema. Ravi Dubey, a popular face on television, who is playing the role of Lord Lakshman in the two-part film, has spoken about being a part of this epic. He also opened up about working with Ranbir Kapoor. While talking about the ‘Animal’ actor, Ravi Dubey called him his “elder brother” and went on to praise his humility.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Ravi Dubey said, “Ranbir is incredibly kind, one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He is very warm and welcoming. We were just discussing humility earlier. When someone attains massive success, especially sudden success, they become widely admired and loved. With that comes immense credibility for their performances, along with the freedom to carry themselves in a certain way—something many actors embrace.”

“But Ranbir bhai is different. His humility, kindness towards everyone, quiet nature, dedication to his craft, and meticulous preparation behind the scenes are truly incredible. For me, he is like an elder brother, and I deeply respect and admire him as one,” he added.

Speaking about being a part of this epic, Ravi Dubey said, “It is a great privilege if you get to be a part of the Ram Katha, I couldn’t be more grateful.”

The first part of ‘Ramayana’ will release in cinemas on Diwali 2026, while the second part will hit theatres on Diwali 2027.

“More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen,” producer Namit Malhotra had earlier confirmed on Instagram.

“And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture – our “RAMAYANA”– for people across the world,” he added.

Speaking further, Namit Malhotra said, “Join us as we fulfill our dream of bringing our greatest epic to life with pride and reverence… Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027. From our entire Ramayana Family.”

‘KGF’ star Yash had earlier confirmed that he is playing the role of Ravan in the epic.

Speaking to Hollywood Reporter India, Yash said, “It’s a very fascinating character. I wouldn’t have done it for any other reason. In Ramayana, if you had asked me, ‘Would you play any other character?’ Probably not. For me, Ravan is the most exciting character to play as an actor so I really like the shades and the nuances of particular character. There’s vast scope to present it in a very different way. As an actor, I am very excited. Hopefully, it’s going to be a very unique approach to it.”

As per reports, the shooting of the first part of the film is almost over. Yash is also co-producing the film.
