2023 has been a smashing year for Shah Rukh Khan as he delivered two all-time blockbusters in the form of 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'. Both the Hindi films crossed the Rs 500 crore mark, and it is safe to say that King Khan has reclaimed his throne after his 2018 movie ‘Zero’ tanked at the box office. Fans are now waiting to see what he has to offer next with Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki'. The upcoming Hindi movie, which is set to release in theatres in December 2023, will be clashing against Prabhas' 'Salaar' at the box office.
'Dunki' marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. As per a report in Pinkvilla, the 'Dunki' teaser will be released on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday i.e. November 2.
"The teaser will hit the digital world on November 2, 2023. That’s not all. Shah Rukh Khan will be hosting a birthday event for his fans in Mumbai, and will see the teaser with all his fans on his special day,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
The 'Dunki' teaser has been certified 'U' by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). For the unversed, Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment with Rajkumar Hirani Films and Jio Studios.
As per Pinkvilla, the producers have submitted two versions of the teaser to CBFC. One is a little under a minute while the second one is close to two minutes. It is not known which teaser will be unveiled on Thursday, November 2.
"The teaser will introduce the audience to the world created by Rajkumar Hirani over the last few years. It's a special film for all the stakeholders and the campaign is going to be special too. Dunki will see a different avatar of SRK, and the audience are on for a ride this Christmas," the source added.
"The idea is to ensure that the teaser is played in theatres all across the globe with the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer. Tiger 3. The teaser will be the first of the many assets that team Dunki plans to launch over the coming few weeks," the source concluded.
Shah Rukh Khan has delivered two Rs 1,000 crore worldwide grossers in 2023, and 'Dunki' has high expectations riding on it. 'Dunki' is touted to be a global project set against the backdrop of illegal immigration.
Apart from SRK, 'Dunki' also stars Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani. Reportedly, the movie will also feature Vicky Kaushal in a special appearance.
