SS Rajamouli's Brutal Take On Aamir Khan's Acting In 'Laal Singh Chaddha'
Aamir Khan's cousin Mansoor Khan, who is also a filmmaker himself, has revealed SS Rajamouli's reaction to the actor's performance in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.
Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer 'Laal Singh Chaddha' released in the theatres in 2022, and the movie tanked at the box office as it did not find many takers. The Hindi adaptation of Hollywood classic 'Forrest Gump' was criticised for its screenplay and Aamir Khan's acting performance. In the latest entertainment news, Aamir Khan's cousin Mansoor Khan, who is also a filmmaker himself, has revealed SS Rajamouli's reaction to the actor's performance in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. Mansoor Khan said that after hearing the feedback of SS Rajamouli, Aamir Khan himself thought that he must have overacted in the film.
Speaking with news agency PTI, Mansoor Khan said: "Aamir has a great sense of humour. So, one day he laughingly tells me, ‘When you told me it was over the top, I said, ok, you are a subtle guy, which is why you might have felt that way. But when someone like Rajamouli tells me overacting lag raha hai, I said to myself, isko bhi lag raha hai toh kiya hi hoga."
Mansoor Khan also said that he was frank enough to give Aamir Khan his honest feedback well before others.
“I liked the script. I think writer Atul Kulkarni did a fine job of it. Yes, Aamir, I believe, went over the top with his expressions. I mean the character is not a jerk, not someone suffering with dyslexia or anything else. He is a bit odd ... but that's about it. I loved Tom Hanks in the original, he was so minimal with his expressions and portrayal of the character. Of course, I did tell this to Aamir," said Mansoor Khan.
For the uninitiated, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was directed by Advait Chandan and it also featured Mona Singh in a key role.
'Laal Singh Chaddha' was a remake of the 1994 American movie 'Forrest Gump'. The Hindi movie also featured Naga Chaitanya.
Mansoor Khan had directed Aamir Khan in 1988 in 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'. The cousins then also worked together in 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' and 'Akele Hum Akele Tum'.
Currently, Aamir Khan has taken a break from acting, and it needs to be seen when he chooses to make an acting comeback.
