On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Prabhas shared a new poster from the latest new Hindi film ‘Adipurush’. The new poster introduces the viewers to Devdatta Nage as Hanuman. ‘Adipurush’, directed by Om Raut, is based on the Ramayana. The poster features Devdatta Nage in a meditative pose. In the backdrop, the audience gets a glimpse of Prabhas, who plays Raghava in Om Raut's magnum opus. This poster drop comes after the makers of the latest new Hindi film unveiled a poster on Ram Navami.

Sharing the poster on social media, Prabhas wrote in the caption, "Ram ke Bhakt aur Ramkatha ke praan...Jai Pavanputra Hanuman. Adipurush releases globally in theatres on June 16, 2023."

The poster shows Devdatta Nage as Hanuman sitting in a meditation pose. Fans were thrilled to see the poster and took to the comment section of the post to react to it.

One fan wrote, “What a poster, fingers crossed.”

Another one added, “Best poster till date.”

A third user commented, “Box-office blast #Adipurush.”

The new poster release comes after a police complaint was filed against ‘Adipurush’ makers in Mumbai for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus in the film’s recent poster.

The makers of ‘Adipurush’ had unveiled the poster in question on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.

According to India Today, the complaint was registered by Sanjay Dinanath Tiwari through Mumbai High Court Advocates - Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra at Sakinaka police station against the producers, artist and director Om Raut.

The complaint stated that “the religious sentiments of the Hindu religion society have been hurt by the filmmaker Om Raut by inappropriately displaying the character of the Hindi religious text Ramcharitmanas in the new poster of the film."

The poster that released on Ram Navami featured Prabhas and Sunny carrying bows and arrows, donning armour and dressed in dhoti. Kriti featured in a simple saree with her head covered, while Devdatta Nage was seen in a side pose as he bowed down in the service of the trio.

‘Adipurush’ had earlier also courted controversy, including boycott calls, when many objected to the depiction of Hindu deities and inferior quality of visual effects in the teaser of the film launched in October.

The latest new Hindi film was earlier set to arrive in theatres on August 11, 2022, but the release date was further pushed to January 12, 2023. It is now slated to hit the screens in 3D on June 16 this year.

For the unversed, ‘Adipurush’ also stars Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Lakshman and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.

The magnum opus, slated to hit the theatres in IMAX and 3D, will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
