Salaar vs Dunki
Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dunki' has entered the Rs 100 crore club in just 4 days.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' and Prabhas-starrer 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' have ensured that it is indeed a Merry Christmas for Indian cinema. Both movies are raking in the moolah at the box office, and both the newly-released films are headed towards being labelled as success stories. The box office collections of both 'Dunki' and 'Salaar' are proof enough that two movies can co-exist despite being released on the same day.

'Dunki', directed by Rajkumar Hirani, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani, minted Rs 30.70 crore on Sunday, which was the fourth day of its release. The Sunday collections are higher than the collections recorded on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and this is a good sign for the film.

The four-day domestic nett total of 'Dunki' now stands at Rs 105.63 crore, and this is an impressive collection looking at the genre of the film. On Sunday, producers Red Chillies Entertainment said that the worldwide collection of the movie stands at more than Rs 150 crore.

It is safe to assume that if one adds the worldwide collection of Sunday, then 'Dunki's amount would swell up to more than Rs 200 crore.

Now, it needs to be seen how much 'Dunki' collects on Christmas Day and its Tuesday collection will determine whether the film has enough legs to sustain itself at the box office.

Talking about 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan, the new Telugu film minted Rs 62.05 crore across all languages on Sunday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The total nett domestic collection of 'Salaar' directed by Prashanth Neel, now stands at Rs 209.10 crore. 'Salaar' has just taken three days to enter the Rs 200 crore club, across all languages.

The Hindi version contributed Rs 21.10 crore on Sunday, and when one talks about 'Salaar's Hindi collection, the total currently stands at Rs 53.20 crore.

Earlier, 'Salaar' had recorded the biggest opening for an Indian film this year as it made Rs 179 crore on Day 1 of its release, globally.

Prabhas is in desperate need of a hit as his last three releases -- 'Saaho', 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Adipurush', tanked at the box office, despite getting a marvellous opening weekend collection.
