Here's how both Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ are faring at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan, who made a powerful comeback this year with the hit movie ‘Pathaan’, delivered another blockbuster in the form of ‘Jawan’. The Atlee directorial became the highest grossing Hindi movie of all time. And King Khan recently returned with his third movie of the year, ‘Dunki’, which marked his maiden collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani of ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Sanju’ fame. Despite facing competition from another big movie ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial has been holding well at the box office. It has now crossed the Rs 150 crore mark in India.

‘Dunki’, co-starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani, minted Rs 9.75 crore on Wednesday, marking the film's lowest single-day haul yet. But it still managed to enter the Rs 150 crore club in India.

The film's domestic collection now stands at Rs 151.26 crore. On Wednesday, 'Dunki' had an overall 19.89 per cent occupancy. After six days, 'Dunki' minted Rs 283.13 crore in worldwide gross box office. 'Dunki' is SRK's weakest film of 2023.

SRK's previous two releases -- 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' grossed a combined total of over Rs 2,200 crore and with the box office figures of ‘Dunki’ also factored in, Shah Rukh Khan's films in 2023 have grossed Rs 2,500 crore worldwide till now.

Meanwhile, Prabhas’ ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’ is also maintaining its strong hold at the box office. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the new movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan. It minted Rs 17 crore on Wednesday, its sixth day of release.

This has taken nett domestic collection of ‘Salaar’ to Rs 297.40 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Prabhas’ previous film, ‘Adipurush’ had managed to make Rs 288.15 crore nett in India through the course of its run in theatres.

‘Salaar’ will likely also cross the lifetime collection of Prabhas' 2019 film ‘Saaho’ over the next few days. For the unversed, ‘Saaho’ had made Rs 310.60 crore in India.

However, it remains to be seen whether ‘Salaar’ manages to go past Prabhas’ biggest hit ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ as the SS Rajamouli directorial had made Rs 1,030.42 crore nett in India.

It is important to note that ‘Dunki’ just released in Hindi, while ‘Salaar’ released in five languages -- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. ‘Salaar’ has done the maximum amount of business in Telugu, followed by the Hindi version.

Globally, ‘Salaar’ has already grossed over Rs 500 crore, according to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.

Previously, ‘Pathaan’, ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Jawan’, ‘Leo’, ‘Jailer’, and ‘Animal’ all grossed more than Rs 500 crore worldwide in 2023.
