Prabhas’ ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’ Continues To Outshine Shah Rukh Khan-Starrer ‘Dunki’ At Box Office
Both ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salaar’ witnessed a slight drop in collections on Christmas 2023.
Cinephiles are in for a treat as they have plenty to choose from. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’, Prabhas’ ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’, and Jason Momoa-starrer ‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom’ are currently playing in theatres and these movies have ensured that it is indeed a happy holiday season for the Indian box office. ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salaar’ are currently dominating the box office, and both movies continue to mint a good amount of money.
‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ is dominating the box office when all languages are considered. On Monday, which was the fourth day of its release, Prashanth Neel-directorial which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan, minted Rs 42.50 crore across all languages, taking the four-day total to an impressive Rs 251.60 crore.
When it comes to the Hindi version, ‘Salaar’ is continuing to chip away at the box office, and on Monday, the new Telugu movie collected Rs 13.50 crore in Hindi, taking the four-day total to Rs 65.50 crore. It is safe to assume that the Prabhas-starrer will enter the Rs 100 crore club in the coming days.
Talking about ‘Dunki’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani, the new Hindi film minted Rs 22.50 crore on Monday, which was the fifth day of its release.
The five-day domestic nett total of ‘Dunki’ now stands at Rs 128.13 crore. Worldwide, the new Hindi film has already gone past the Rs 200 crore mark.
Talking about Jason Momoa-starrer ‘Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’, the movie has collected almost Rs 10 crore in India.
Earlier, ‘Salaar’ had recorded the biggest opening for an Indian film this year as it made Rs 179 crore on Day 1 of its release globally.
Prabhas is in desperate need of a hit as his last three releases – ‘Saaho’, ‘Radhe Shyam’ and ‘Adipurush’, tanked at the box office, despite getting a marvellous opening weekend collection.
On the other hand, it is safe to say that ‘Dunki’ would not be doing business on similar lines as SRK’s previous two releases – ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.
