Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’, starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Rishabh Sawhney, released in theatres on January 25. It opened to favourable reviews from critics and audiences alike. However, it is fair to say that the new Hindi movie has not had a desired run at the box office. When the trailer of the new Hindi movie dropped, everyone predicted that 'Fighter' will be the first blockbuster of 2024. While ‘Fighter’ did good business at the box office during its first weekend, it witnessed a massive dip in its collection on Monday.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Fighter' earned around Rs 8 crore on its first Monday, and the drop is a significant 70 per cent when you compare it to the Sunday collection of Rs 29 crore.

The total nett domestic collection of 'Fighter' now stands at Rs 126.50 crore, and it looks difficult that the film will go past the Rs 250 crore mark, considering Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' is slated to release in theatres on February 9.

Worldwide, 'Fighter' has gone past the Rs 200 crore mark, as per the producers and director Siddharth Anand. 'Fighter' was also the number one movie at the global charts over the weekend. And hence, the new Hindi movie became the fifth Indian film after 'Master', 'RRR', 'Brahmastra', and 'Animal', to achieve this feat.

'Fighter' has recorded weak advance booking for Tuesday, which is the sixth day of its release. The new Hindi movie has managed to sell just 1,01,393 tickets, grossing Rs 1.87 crore. So, it looks unlikely that the film will be going past the double digit mark on Tuesday, January 30.

‘Fighter’, presented by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, is the third collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’. The new Hindi movie is also the third collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Pathaan’.

Earlier, Siddharth Anand admitted that the success of ‘Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, has set the bar too high for him and he is indeed feeling the “pressure of the expectations” from his audience.

For the unversed, 'Fighter' opened to a collection of Rs 24.60 crore, and on Republic Day, the film made more than Rs 40 crore. 'Fighter' is Hrithik Roshan's seventh movie to enter the Rs 100 crore club in India.
