Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao's 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' Holds Well On Day 2, Film Goes Past Rs 10 Crore
'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi', starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, registered a respectable box office collection on Day 2.
'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi', starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, was released in cinemas on Friday, May 31, and the new Hindi film has found appreciation from both critics and audiences. After taking a fantastic start at the box office, owing to Cinema Lovers Day, 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' registered a respectable hold on Saturday. The new Hindi film has now gone past the Rs 10 crore mark, and 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' will now be looking to register a significant jump on Sunday, to post a good opening weekend collection.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi', minted Rs 4.50 crore on Saturday, the second day of its release. As a result, the total two-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 11.25 crore. On Sunday, 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' had an overall 20.13 per cent Hindi occupancy.
'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' tells the love story of a couple, who find love, after discovering their love for the sport of cricket.
The new Hindi film also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Purnendu Bhattacharya. 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' is directed by Sharan Sharma, who made his directorial debut with ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, which starred Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.
Talking about Rajkummar Rao's 'Srikanth', which was released in cinemas on May 10, collected Rs 0.84 crore on Saturday, the 23rd day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 42.64 crore.
For the unversed, 'Srikanth' also stars Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar and Jyotika. In the film, Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment.
