Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' has become the megastar’s third highest-grossing film.

Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Coolie', starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shruti Haasan, might have slowed down at the box office. But the new Tamil film continues to go past the lifetime collections of the biggest movies one day at a time. 'Coolie', which released in theatres on August 14, 2025, has now gone past the lifetime haul of Kamal Haasan-starrer 'Vikram', which was also directed by Lokesh. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Coolie' has earned Rs 216 crore net and Rs 255.80 crore gross in India in its opening six days.

'Coolie' also earned Rs 162.20 crore from overseas in the same time frame, bringing its total worldwide collection to Rs 418 crore. This has ensured that 'Coolie' has become Lokesh Kanagaraj's second highest-grossing film.

The top spot is held by Vijay's 'Leo', which had made Rs 605.9 crore worldwide. 'Vikram', which also features a smacking cameo by Surya, earned Rs 414.43 crore worldwide.

'Coolie' has now become Rajinikanth's third highest-grossing film after ‘2.0’ (2018) and ‘Jailer’ (2023).

On Tuesday, 'Coolie' earned Rs 9.50 crore on the sixth day of its release across all languages. Earlier, the film earned Rs 12 crore on its first Monday. The Tamil version of the film contributed Rs 141.45 crore in the first six days, while the Hindi version earned Rs 23.60 crore.

Speaking of 'Coolie', the film also stars Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram in key roles. The project also has cameo appearances by Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde.

The film opened with a collection of Rs 65 crore on Day 1 and followed it up with earnings of Rs 54.75 crore and Rs 39.25 crore on the next two days, across all languages.

Speaking of Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani's 'War 2', which released on the same day as 'Coolie', the new pan-India film is on a free-fall, and the daily collections continue to dip.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 'War 2' earned Rs 9 crore on Tuesday, the sixth day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film currently stands at Rs 193.50 crore. The Hindi version has earned Rs 141.75 crore, while the Telugu version earned Rs 50.30 crore.

The Ayan Mukerji-directed 'War 2', the latest instalment of the YRF Spy Universe, doesn't feature cameos by Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

However, the post-credit scene did set up the next installment of the YRF Spy Universe, 'Alpha,' starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, and Bobby Deol. The post-credit scene introduced Bobby Deol to the YRF Spy Universe.
