Teja Sajja's 'Hanuman' has gone past the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office.

Teja Sajja's mythological superhero film 'HanuMan' has done the unthinkable as it has managed to overtake Mahesh Babu's 'Guntar Kaaram', in terms of daily box office collection. 'HanuMan' has received a glowing word of mouth, and it has resulted in phenomenal box office success. On the fifth day of its release, 'HanuMan' minted Rs 12.75 crore across all languages, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

The total domestic collection of 'HanuMan' now stands at Rs 68 crore, and it has a chance of going past the Rs 100 crore in India by Friday or Saturday. Globally, 'HanuMan' has already gone past the Rs 100 crore mark, as per trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.

A sequel to 'HanuMan' titled 'Jai HanuMan' is slated to release in theatres in 2025.

For the unversed, 'HanuMan' had opened to a collection of just Rs 8 crore, but the film then witnessed a surge in collection on Saturday and Sunday.

Recently, 'Kantara' actor Rishab Shetty had taken to X (formerly Twitter) to praise 'HanuMan', calling it a "triumph in storytelling and filmmaking".

"Joining the chorus of praise for 'Hanuman' – a triumph in storytelling and filmmaking by Prashant Verma. Teja Sejja performance stays with you long after the credits roll. #Hanuman," tweeted Rishab Shetty.

Talking about 'Guntar Kaaram', the Mahesh Babu-starrer earned Rs 11 crore in India on day 5, taking the total domestic collection to Rs 94 crore.

Speaking of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi-starrer 'Merry Christmas', which released in theatres on January 12, the new Hindi film earned around Rs 1.15 crore on Tuesday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

The total nett domestic collection of 'Merry Christmas' now stands at Rs 12.53 crore. The film is expected to enjoy a free run at the cinemas until Pankaj Tripathi's 'Main Atal Hoon' releases on January 19.

Then on January 25, Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter' starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, will be releasing in theatres.

As of now, it looks unlikely that 'Merry Christmas' will be able to breach the Rs 25 crore mark at the box office in India.
