Advance Booking Trends Makes Grim Reading For 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' On Day 1
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' is slated to release in cinemas on Friday.
The Hindi film industry is in desperate need for a successful venture in 2024 after Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor-starrer 'Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, performed below expectations. The next big Hindi release is Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya', and it is slated to release in cinemas on Friday, February 9. The advance booking for the new Hindi movie was opened earlier this week, and so far, the movie has recorded respectable ticket sales for the opening day.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' has managed to sell 59,100 tickets so far for the opening day, grossing Rs 1.28 crore.
However, going by the current trajectory, it looks unlikely that the film will take an opening of more than Rs 10 crore. It needs to be seen whether the new Hindi movie manages to beat the opening day collection of last year's 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha', starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.
For the unversed, 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha' had taken an opening of Rs 9.75 crore.
Earlier, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had said that 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' has gotten off to a respectable start at the US box office in terms of advance ticket sales.
"SHAHID KAPOOR - KRITI SANON: ‘TBMAUJ’ STARTS ON A POSITIVE NOTE IN USA… The #US premiere shows [Thursday evening shows] of #TeriBaatonMeinAisaUljhaJiya is witnessing brisk sales, with prime time shows getting sold out quickly. The film - distributed by #NirvanaCinemas in USA - should ensure substantial footfalls over the weekend in #USA," he wrote.

Earlier, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's film was supposed to release on December 7, 2023. However, it was then postponed to February 2024. This decision might have been taken in light of the packed December 2023 release schedule.
The new Hindi movie is being produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. The romantic film is written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah.
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Jio Cinema's ‘Bloody Daddy’. The movie was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Kriti Sanon, on the other hand, last starred in ‘Adipurush’, which also featured Saif Ali Khan, Devdatta Nage, Prabhas, and Sunny Singh.
