Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon’s ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ Sees Marginal Growth, Valentine’s Day Could Give Boost
‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ witnessed slight growth on Tuesday, and Valentine’s Day is expected to give further boost to the new Hindi movie.
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s first collaboration, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, opened to mixed reviews from critics. However, the unique love story seems to have struck a chord with the viewers as it is maintaining the momentum at the box office after a decent opening weekend. The new Hindi movie showed marginal growth on its first Tuesday. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ minted Rs 3.85 crore on the fifth day of its release.
The total nett domestic collection of the new Hindi movie now stands at Rs 34.60 crore. Worldwide, the film has gone past the Rs 60 crore mark.
‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ has performed better than Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Shehzada’, which had released in cinemas around the same time last year. The 2023 Hindi movie had ended its run with Rs 32.02 crore.
The new Hindi movie has already gone past the lifetime collection of Shahid Kapoor's previous theatrical release -- 'Jersey'. The 2022 film had collected Rs 19.68 crore in India.
‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, helmed by debut directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, has already become the second biggest Hindi movie of 2024 at the box office, after Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-led ‘Fighter’.
‘Fighter’, directed by Siddharth Anand, minted Rs 1.10 crore on Tuesday, as per Sacnilk, and the total nett domestic collection of the film currently stands at Rs 199.15 crore.
For the unversed, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ has received mixed reviews from critics, and the makers have left room for a second installment.
'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' also stars Dharmendra, Dimple Kapadia, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles. The new Hindi movie has been produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar.
In 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya', Shahid plays the role of a scientist, who ends up falling in love with Kriti's robot character, SIFRA, whose name stands for “Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation.”
