'Salaar' and 'Dunki' are all set to go head-to-head with each other at the box office.

2023 has seen a few box office clashes, but nothing can be bigger than Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan going head-to-head. Possibly, two of the biggest stars currently, will be having a heavyweight battle at the box office this weekend. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' directed by Rajkumar Hirani will be releasing in theatres on December 21 while Prabhas' 'Salaar', directed by Prashanth Neel, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, will be releasing on December 22.

Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas' fans have been having a go at each other ever since the news of the clash became official. However, no one amongst the teams of 'Dunki' and 'Salaar' have said anything nasty about each other.

In the latest entertainment news, 'Salaar' actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has reacted to the box office clash between both the films.

"It's a holiday season and we are all film lovers, we're getting to see a Rajkumar Hirani- Shah Rukh Khan's film and a Prashanth Neel-Prabhas film; we all should be celebrating. I am so excited, I am going to watch both films first day," Prithviraj Sukumaran told news agency ANI.

"It's a holiday season and film lovers have two great films to watch. What a fantastic sign-off for a grand 2023 it would be if both the films go on to become blockbusters which I am sure they both will. I am looking forward to it," he added.

Talking about working with Prabhas, Prithviraj said, "Working with Prabhas is the easiest thing to do. It is because of the way Prabhas is as a person...He is a really nice guy. He just goes out of his way to make everyone around him very comfortable. He is not aware of the fact that he is such a big star. So, it was delightful to work with him. I am not somebody who has a lot of friends but Prabhas is somebody who I will definitely consider a friend now..."

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, SRK-starrer 'Dunki' has managed to sell 4,05,373 tickets so far for Day 1, grossing Rs 11.46 crore. This amount is way less than SRK's previous releases 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan', but looking at the genre of 'Dunki', the number is a pretty impressive one.

For the unversed, 'Dunki' is just releasing in the Hindi version across India.

Coming to 'Salaar', the film has so far sold 5,86,248 tickets across India, across five languages -- Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. The maximum ticket sales have been recorded in the Telugu version (6,32,687), followed by the Malayalam version (92,338).

When it comes to the Hindi version, 'Salaar' has been underperforming, as it has sold just 76,323 tickets so far for the opening day of its release.
