Gautam Gambhir Reveals One Department Where SRK Has Been "Unsuccessful"
Gautam Gambhir spoke about one area where Shah Rukh Khan has been “unsuccessful”.
Shah Rukh Khan's decision of bringing Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) paid off instantly as the franchise won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for the third time. The Shreyas Iyer-led side defeated SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In the latest entertainment news, Gautam Gambhir has spoken about the bond he shares with SRK, and he also shared how the Bollywood superstar does not behave like an owner of the team.
Gautam Gambhir was also asked about SRK's wish to see the former India player dance during the title win celebrations. It was then that the KKR mentor said that SRK is an accomplished man who has achieved a lot, but even he has been unsuccessful in making him dance.
"Dekhiye, Shah Rukh bhai apni zindagi main bahut successful rahe hai aur bahut successful rahenge bhi. Lekin ek jagah jaha wo unsuccessful hain, wo iss chiz main ki wo mujhe dance nahi karwa paaye aur mujhe lagta hai aage aane samay main bhi, wo iss jagah successful nahi ho paayenge kyunki main dance or gaana gaa he nahi sakta," Gambhir told Sportskeeda.
Speaking about the forehead kiss given to him by SRK after KKR won their third IPL title, Gambhir said. "It's just pure emotion. Woh feeling sirf aap mehsoos kar sakte hai, bata nahi sakte. Woh action he aisa hai, jiske baare me jitna kam bola jaye, utna zaruri hai. It's just pure emotion."

When asked about videos of SRK celebrating with KKR players, Gambhir said, "Of course there is [an individual bond]. He has been emotionally connected to this team for such a long time. The team has seen so many ups and downs, been through bad patches and good ones. So when you have been through a bad patch, you want to enjoy the good days.”
"The bond should be there. As an owner, you don’t have to behave like an owner, you want to behave like a team member. It’s not necessary for you to behave like an owner, you can behave like a player too. Players are insecure and they are in a profession where they are judged every day and in a place where there are no retakes. And when your owner knows that there are no retakes, and you are in a high intensity and high pressure situation, that bond is essential," he added.
On Wednesday evening, SRK penned a heartfelt post for KKR on X (formerly Twitter). The Bollywood superstar thanked everyone involved with KKR's IPL title win.
Replying to SRK, Gambhir on X wrote, "Your faith & love is the foundation which made this dream come true! #SRK (blue heart emojis)."
On the work front, SRK will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's 'King', which is being backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand's Marflix Pictures.
