Anushka Sharma was first seen jumping with joy and she even hugged other members of the RCB contingent in the private box.
The long wait is finally over. Virat Kohli, the long-time talisman for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), finally got his hands on the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy after the franchise defeated Punjab Kings in the final of the 2025 edition. As soon as the final ball was bowled, Virat Kohli couldn't hold back his tears as he got extremely emotional. The outpouring of emotions was not surprising looking at how Virat Kohli endured an agonising wait for 18 years.
Virat Kohli's wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was also at the Narendra Modi Stadium to see RCB end their trophy drought. Anushka Sharma was first seen jumping with joy and she even hugged other members of the RCB contingent in the private box.
Soon after, Anushka Sharma made her way to the middle. Virat Kohli ran towards her to give her a big warm hug.

RCB, under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, displayed a clinical performance against Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings to win the all-important final in front of a jam-packed crowd in Ahmedabad.
On Wednesday morning, Virat Kohli took to Instagram to express his happiness on finally winning the IPL title.
“This team made the dream possible , a season I’ll never ever forget. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of rcb who never ever left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreaks and disappointment,” he wrote.
“This is for every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As far as the ipl trophy is concerned- you’ve made me wait 18 years to be able to lift you and celebrate my friend, but it’s been absolutely worth the wait. @royalchallengers.bengaluru,” he added.

After winning the IPL, Virat Kohli also spoke about how Anushka Sharma has been a constant pillar of support for the cricketer, standing beside him through thick and thin.
Speaking to Star Sports, Virat Kohli said, “It’s been 11 years for her as well, you know. Relentlessly coming to games, watching tough games, watching us just miss out. What your life partner does for you to be able to play, and the sacrifices, and the commitment, and just backing you through thick and thin, is something you can’t explain in words.”
“Only when you play professionally, you understand the amount of things that go on behind the scenes, and what they go through as well,” he added.
It must be mentioned that Anushka Sharma originally hails from Bengaluru and she has been a long-time supporter of the franchise. Her support started way before her marrying Virat Kohli.
Speaking further, he said, “What Anushka has gone through emotionally, watching me, being down and out, her coming to games, being so connected with Bangalore, she’s a Bangalore girl as well, and being connected to RCB, this is very, very special for her as well, and she’s going to be so, so proud.”
For the unversed, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma started dating in 2013 after meeting during a commercial shoot. The duo tied the knot in December 2017. The couple is proud parents to two kids, daughter Vamika and son Akaay.
