'Koi...Mil Gaya' had released in theatres on August 8, 2003 and the movie emerged as a massive success story.

Remember Jadoo in 'Koi...Mil Gaya'? The movie, starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, had released 20 years back in 2003. Feel old yet? The Hindi movie is viewed as a path-breaking concept for its story and dedication towards sci-fi genre. 20 years have passed, still the movie continues to receive a lot love from all corners. If you are a Gen Z, and have not watched the movie yet, let us talk you through the plotline of the movie first.

The movie directed by Rakesh Roshan tells the story of a young boy - Rohit Mehra played by Hrithik Roshan, who is suffering from developmental disability. His life then takes a massive turn when he encounters an alien named Jadoo who ends up giving him some superpowers.

In the movie's climax, Jadoo leaves Earth aboard a spaceship that Rohit assisted in summoning. As a result, Rohit ends up losing all his superpowers he once possessed.

However, after a few days, Rohit is given back his powers by Jadoo.

In the latest entertainment news, 'Koi...Mil Gaya' director Rakesh Roshan revealed that he chose this particular climax from the two options he had, following the advice of Aditya Chopra, instead of his father Yash Chopra.

“Yash (Chopra) uncle was in favour of the ending where he (Jadoo) takes away his powers and leaves. On the other hand, Adi (Aditya Chopra) had the conviction that the powers have come to him (Rohit), so he suggested that I keep the same ending,” Rakesh Roshan told Pinkvilla.

'Koi… Mil Gaya' had premiered on August 8, 2003, and the movie received both critical and commercial appreciation.  Following the first movie, the second installment titled 'Krrish' was released in 2006, and then 'Krrish 3' was released in the theatres in 2013.

“The idea of making Koi… Mil Gaya struck me one day when I was observing my granddaughter Suranika (Sunaina Roshan’s daughter) watching a cartoon that featured an alien. I was instantly intrigued and asked her out of curiosity if she understood the concept and she explained the story to me. I was surprised that a kid her age not only understood what an alien was but also seemed entertained by the sci-fi concept,” director Rakesh Roshan had told news agency PTI.

Talking about Hrithik Roshan, the actor will next be seen in Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter' alongside Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.
