'Gadar 2' Hits Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' For A Six At Box Office Advance Booking Numbers
Going by advance booking numbers, 'Gadar 2' is expected to make a flying start at the box office.
India will have its own Barbenheimer as Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' and Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' will hit the theatres on the same date (August 11). Both the movies are anticipated projects, however, in the latest entertainment news, we are here to report that 'Gadar 2' is faring far better than 'OMG 2' in terms of advance booking at this point of time. 'Gadar 2' is expected to rake in atleast Rs 25 crore on the opening day, but Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' would be lucky if it manages to collect in double digits.
As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Gadar 2' has already sold more than 1.41 lakh tickets for the opening day while 'OMG 2' has only sold a little more than 29,000 tickets in three major cinema chains (PVR, INOX and Cinepolis).
It is important to mention that Taran Adarsh provided the advance booking details upto August 9, 10:30 PM.
Check out the tweet of Taran Adarsh here:

#Gadar2: 1,41,500
#OMG2: 29,800
'Gadar 2' is also expected to challenge the first-day collections of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham-starrer 'Pathaan'.
'Gadar 2' has been directed by Anil Sharma and it stars Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra in the lead roles.
For the unversed, 'Gadar' had released on the same day as Aamir Khan's 'Lagaan', and the movie was set during the partition of India. The plot of the 2001 film revolved around Tara Singh, played by Sunny Deol, and how he fell in love with Sakina, a Pakistani girl, played by Ameesha Patel.
Talking about 'OMG 2', the movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The trailer's opening underlined that Akshay Kumar is not playing Lord Shiva, but a messenger of God. For the unversed, this was probably one of the directives given from the CBFC to the makers of the film.
'OMG 2' is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's 2012 hit film 'OMG - Oh My God'.
