Is Preity Zinta's Real Name Pritam Singh Zinta? Actress Issues Clarification
Preity Zinta has issued a clarification after rumours started doing the rounds that her actual name is Pritam Singh Zinta.
Preity Zinta might not be working in many movies now, but she still remains one of the most popular actresses to come out of Bollywood. In the latest entertainment news, Preity Zinta has issued a clarification regarding her name. The 'Kal Ho Na Ho' actress posted a video on X (formerly Twitter), stating that certain publications say that her real name is Pritam Singh Zinta, and she later changed it to Preity Zinta. The actress has now clarified, saying this was never the case.
In her caption, Preity Zinta also clarified that Pritam Singh was a name given to her by Bobby Deol on the sets of 'Soldier' jokingly.
Taking to X, Preity Zinta wrote, "Over the years I have consistently read in various media articles that I have changed my name from Pritam Singh Zinta to Preity Zinta. I have tried to set the record straight so many times by telling everyone that, on the sets of “Soldier” @thedeol called me Pritam Singh as a Joke (pls ask him why he chose that name when u meet him)."
"The movie became a blockbuster, our friendship flourished & since then Pritam Singh - the name is still stuck to me….. Bachaao, So one last time folks - Pritam Singh was NEVER my name. Meanwhile, on the work front, Preity Zinta recently produced Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer ‘The Night Manager’ series.
Preity Zinta is best known for her performances in films including ‘Dil Se’, ‘Lakshya’, ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Veer-Zaara’ and ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, among many others.
Preity Zinta was last seen in ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’, which released in 2018. She also featured in a small role in ABC series ‘Fresh Off The Boat’ in one episode.
On the personal front, Preity Zinta married Gene Goodenough in 2016 and moved to Los Angeles. The couple welcomed twins via surrogacy in 2021.
