Old Video Of Karan Johar Saying He Wanted To "Murder" Anushka Sharma's Career Goes Viral, Vivek Agnihotri Reacts
An old video of Karan Johar saying he wanted to “murder” Anushka Sharma's career is now going viral on social media.
Bollywood is back in the news for all the wrong reasons. First, it was Priyanka Chopra Jonas who revealed that she moved away from the Hindi film industry as she was tired of the politics, and then screenwriter Apurva Asrani said that the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was harangued right till the very end. Amidst all this, many people took potshots at director and producer Karan Johar, and even Kangana Ranaut said that the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' filmmaker was behind Priyanka Chopra's difficult days in Bollywood.
Now, in the latest entertainment news, an old video has gone viral on Twitter, in which Karan Johar can be seen saying that he wanted to "murder" the career of Anushka Sharma when she was all set to debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.

“I completely wanted to murder Anushka Sharma’s career because when Aditya Chopra showed me her image, I was like ‘no no, mad or what? Why are you signing her? There is no need for you to sign this Anushka Sharma. There was another lead actor whom I wanted Adi to sign. I was totally behind the scenes sabotaging her career. The movie also, I was reluctantly watching Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi," Karan Johar said at the 18th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2016.
"But when I watched Band Baaja Baaraat, I called her, I felt like I owed her an apology because I felt so embarrassed because I would have ruined the craft of such an exceptional talent," he added.
For the unversed, Karan Johar had directed Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' in 2016.
As the video is now going viral, 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri reacted, saying that "someone's only hobby is to break careers."
Here is his tweet:
Someone’s only hobby is to make or break careers. If Bollywood is in gutter, it’s because of some people’s dirty ‘backroom’ politics against talented outsiders. https://t.co/GNPRjiW5ry

Talking about Karan Johar, the director is next helming Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh-starrer 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' and the movie will release in July this year.
