Wait, What! Anushka Sharma's Googly Had Us All Fooled
Anushka Sharma had recently called out PUMA India for using her imagery without permission. But there was a twist! Read on to know more.
Anushka Sharma is super savvy on social media, and she never shirks from taking anyone on, when she feels that they have wronged her. The Bollywood actress had not even spared the great Sunil Gavaskar, and took him to the cleaners after a remark of his, about a video of Anushka and Virat Kohli playing cricket on their terrace during Covid-enforced lockdown in the country. Earlier, this week, Anushka Sharma once again took to Instagram to call out ‘Puma India’ for supposedly using her “imagery” without the required “permissions”, forcefully telling the brand to “take it down”.
It surprised many at the time, as her husband and India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli is the brand ambassador for the company. However, to us and many others, it further proved that Anushka Sharma is not to be messed with.

Many big media companies, like NDTV, Indian Express, Zee, among others all covered the story.
“Anushka Sharma Slams Puma For Using Her Photo Without Permission: ''Please Take It Down,” read NDTV’s headline.
“Anushka Sharma pens angry post as brand features her in campaign without permission: ‘Not your brand ambassador…’,” Indian Express headlined their story.
Many other big publications opted for headlines on similar lines, and we at B4U were no different.
Fast forward to a couple of days, and we were in for another shock.
Lo and behold! Our initial impression that it seemed like a promotional gimmick came true. Anushka Sharma’s googly had us and many others completely fooled.
Turns out that it was in fact all a show to announce Anushka Sharma’s collaboration with a sportswear brand.
The Bollywood actress shared a really fun video, of her contemplating Puma’s offer and then came the pictures and the stamp of approval from Anushka in a separate post on Insta.
Some fans have taken to Twitter to convey their displeasure of being utterly fooled by Anushka Sharma.
But we tip our hat to the Bollywood beauty and Puma India for coming up with a genius marketing idea.
Kudos to you, Anushka and Puma India!
