'Gadar 2' Overtakes 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' To Achieve Mind-Boggling Feat
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' is continuing its glorious run at the box office.
With Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' releasing in theatres, it looks unlikely that Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' will break the record of 'Pathaan' to become the highest-grossing Hindi movie of all-time. SRK's 'Jawan' has gotten more screens, and with reduced screens and less footfall, it looks really unlikely that 'Gadar 2' would manage to do the unthinkable. However, in the latest entertainment news, despite less number of screens, 'Gadar 2' is managing to break some record or the other.
'Pathaan's record might still be far away, but 'Gadar 2' directed by Anil Sharma, has managed to go past 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' and hence, it has become the second-highest grossing Hindi movie of all time. On Friday, 'Gadar 2' collected Rs 1 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, and now the total collection of the Anil Sharma directorial stands at Rs 511 crore.

‘Gadar 2’ is written by Shaktimaan Talwar. It stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Rakesh Bedi, Simrat Kaur and Manish Wadhwa among others. Set in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, the film follows the story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) as he goes to Pakistan to save his son (Utkarsh Sharma) from captivity.
Since its release, ‘Gadar 2’ collected Rs 284.63 crore in the first week, Rs 134.47 crore in week two and Rs 63.35 crore in the third week. In its fourth week, 'Gadar 2' collected Rs 27.55 crore.
Besides Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel, ‘Gadar 2’ also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rakesh Bedi and Dolly Bindra.
The film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was also directed by Anil Sharma. ‘Gadar’ was a massive hit in 2001, when it clashed against the critically acclaimed ‘Lagaan’, which starred Aamir Khan.
Sunny Deol recently hosted a star-studded success bash in Mumbai. It was attended by the who's who of Bollywood, including Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Kartik Aaryan and Varun Dhawan.
