As per a report by Sacnilk, ‘Gadar 2’ became the third Hindi film to enter the Rs 500 crore club in India. It joined SS Rajamouli's ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) and Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Pathaan’.

The new Hindi movie has also crossed the Rs 650 crore mark at the international box office. It became the 10th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time. ‘Gadar 2’ has beaten ‘Baahubali - The Beginning’, which scored Rs 650 crore worldwide in 2015.

Set in 1971, ‘Gadar 2’ follows Tara Singh's (Sunny Deol) journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet (Utkarsh Sharma).

Besides Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel, ‘Gadar 2’ also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rakesh Bedi and Dolly Bindra.

The popular songs from the 2001 original, ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ have been recreated for ‘Gadar 2’.

The film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was also directed by Anil Sharma. ‘Gadar’ was a massive hit in 2001, when it clashed against the critically acclaimed ‘Lagaan’, which starred Aamir Khan.
