'Laapataa Ladies' Trailer: Kiran Rao's Directorial Promises To Be Fun Social Comedy Dealing With "Wife Swapping"
'Laapataa Ladies' directed by Kiran Rao and backed by Aamir Khan, will be releasing on March 1, 2024.
Kiran Rao is all set to make her directorial comeback with 'Laapataa Ladies'. In the latest entertainment news, the trailer for the upcoming Hindi film was unveiled on Wednesday. For the unversed, 'Laapataa Ladies' stars Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastav, Ravi Kishan, and Nitanshi Goel. The upcoming Hindi movie is backed by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande.
The movie is set in 2001 in rural India, and the plot of the film revolves around two young brides wearing identical crimson veils and how they get swapped during a train ride to their husbands’ villages after their weddings.
The trailer shows how two young brides get lost on a train and this leads to a bizarre chain of events. Going by the trailer, it looks like the film will offer the audience a roller coaster ride ride.

As per Variety, the film is based on 'Two Brides' by Biplab Goswami, one of the winning scripts at the Cinestaan India Storytellers Contest, where Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, was on the jury.
'Laapataa Ladies' is slated to release in theatres on March 1, 2024.
Earlier, the film had received a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
'Laapataa Ladies' is being presented by Jio Studios. The film has been made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions.
The screenplay and dialogues have been written by Sneha Desai while the additional dialogues have been penned by Diyanidhi Sharma.
Earlier, Kiran Rao had scripted and directed 'Dhobi Ghat', which was released in 2011. The film was backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
