Battle Lines Drawn! Prabhas' 'Salaar' To Clash With Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki'
It's official! It will be Shah Rukh Khan vs Prabhas on December 22, 2023.
It's official! Shah Rukh Khan vs Prabhas would indeed happen in December 2023. The makers of Prabhas' upcoming movie 'Salaar' on Friday confirmed that the movie will be releasing in theatres on December 22, 2023. This is the same release date as Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki'. The clash of the titans would indeed go down, and it is safe to say, that this is probably the biggest clash in the history of Indian cinema.
Hombale Films, the producers of 'Salaar', took to X (formerly Twitter), on Friday, to make the official announcement. "Coming Bloody Soon. #SalaarCeaseFire Worldwide Release On Dec 22, 2023," the handle wrote.

Talking about 'Salaar', the movie has been directed by Prashanth Neel, and it features Prabas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Ramachandra Raju, Sriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, among others.
Earlier, when it was being rumoured that 'Salaar' would be indeed be clashing with 'Dunki', there was speculation that SRK might postpone the release date of the Rajkumar Hirani-directorial.
However, earlier this week, SRK confirmed that 'Dunki' would arrive in theatres as planned. There are also reports doing the rounds, that 'Dunki' might release overseas on December 21, a day prior to India.
'Dunki' has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who is known for projects like 'MunnaBhai MBBS', 'Lage Raho MunnaBhai', '3 Idiots', 'PK', and 'Sanju'.
Rajkumar Hirani is yet to deliver a flop at the box office. Apart from SRK, 'Dunki' also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal.
Hombale Films had earlier clashed with SRK in 2018. 'KGF: Chapter 1', and 'Zero' had faced off at the box office and it was the former that emerged triumphant.
However, this year, the clash would be different as SRK is coming on the back of two blockbusters -- 'Pathaan', and 'Jawan'. On the other hand, Prabhas' last three nfilms -- 'Saaho', 'Radhe Shyam', and 'Adipurush' performed miserably at the box office.
And if history is anything to go by, SRK has a knack of picking up wins when he clashes against other movies.
'Om Shanti Om' had squared off against 'Saawariya', 'Mohabbatein' had clashed against 'Mission Kashmir', and 'Don' had faced off against Salman Khan's 'Jaan-E-Mann'. All these times, it was SRK who had the last laugh!
