On Tuesday, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had released a new poster from the movie. Sharing the poster, she wrote: "Fire in their eyes. Love in their hearts. Blood on their swords. The Cholas will be back to fight for the throne."
'Ponniyin Selvan 1' had ended with the titular hero and Vanthiyathevan getting drowned in the Indian ocean. We know that help was on the way as Oomai Rani jumped into the ocean to save the prince. The biggest talking point is the identity of the ageing queen, who pretty much looks like the older version of Nandini.
'Ponniyin Selvan 2' is slated to release in the theatres on April 28 this year. The movie has been directed by Mani Ratnam. 'Ponniyin Selvan' is based on the novel series that goes by the same name, which was written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy in the 70s.
The new movie stars Vikram, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Parthiban and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. AR Rahman has given the music for the movie and one needs to see what the maestro will unleash with 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'.
