‘Salaar’, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is all set to release in theatres on December 22. It will clash with SRK’s ‘Dunki’.

Prashanth Neel’s next directorial venture ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2023. The upcoming movie will be going up against Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial ‘Dunki’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, at the box office. While ‘Dunki’ will be released in theatres on December 21, ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ will arrive in cinemas on December 22. ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ will be released in five languages -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

While fans are eagerly waiting to witness Prabhas’ magic on the big screen, they are also excited to see whether Kannada actor Yash has a cameo appearance in ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’. For the unversed, Yash gained widespread recognition for his role as Rocky after the massive success of Prashanth Neel’s directorial ventures ‘KGF: Chapter 1’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.

Rumours have been rife that Yash may appear in a cameo appearance in ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’. However, the producer of the film has now dismissed the rumours.

In an interview with India Today, producer Vijay Kiragandur said, “I think Prashanth has clarified already that there is no link [between KGF and Salaar]. There’s no cameo in the movie. So that is not true.”

Child singer Theertha Subhash recently accidentally mentioned Yash having a cameo appearance in ‘Salaar’ during a media interaction. However, she later clarified that she got it wrong.

Ever since ‘Salaar’ was announced, there have also been rumours that the film is a remake of Prashanth Neel’s movie ‘Ugramm’.

Producer Vijay Kiragandur recently put these rumours to rest, stating that the film was a completely original story and not a remake.

‘Salaar’ is set in the fictional city of Khansaar, which sees a change of power from father to son. However, when a coup is planned to overthrow the family, the son seeks the help of his childhood friend to restore peace in the city.

For the unversed, 'Salaar' was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on September 28, but it was postponed due to delay in post-production work.

For the unversed, ‘Salaar’ will be releasing in two parts and the first part is titled ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’. Backed by Hombale Films, ‘Salaar’ is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 400 crore and is produced by Vijay Kiragandur.

Apart from Prabhas, ‘Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire’ also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu.

Earlier, it was revealed that ‘Salaar’ has been granted an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It has also surfaced that ‘Salaar’ will have a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes.
