‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’, directed by Prashanth Neel, starring Prabhas in the lead role, will release in cinemas on December 22.

Kannada actor Yash gained widespread recognition for his role as Rocky after the massive success of Prashanth Neel’s directorial ventures ‘KGF: Chapter 1’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Yash back on the silver screen and rumours are rife that he may appear in a cameo appearance in Prashanth Neel’s next movie ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’. The upcoming movie, which stars Prabhas in the lead role, will be going up against Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’, starring Shah Rukh Khan.

While ‘Dunki’ will be releasing in theatres on December 21, ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ will arrive in cinemas on December 22. ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ will be releasing in five languages -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

In addition to speculating that Yash might have a cameo in ‘Salaar’, there has been one question on everyone’s mind - if there will be a crossover with KGF.

While the makers of ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ remained tight-lipped about it, singer Theertha Subhash recently seemingly confirmed that Yash’s character Rocky does have a part in ‘Salaar’.

During a media interaction post winning a singing competition in Kerala, Theertha Subhash let it slip that she’s singing for ‘Salaar’, which also stars ‘Yash uncle’.

She unintentionally mentioned that Yash will be a part of ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’, which made many believe that she confirmed his cameo in the film.

Theertha Subhash soon took to social media to clarify her statement and put rumours to rest.

The young singer wrote on social media, “I have seen KGF many times. My father mentioned to me that the team of Salaar was the same ones who made KGF. So, I assumed that Yash uncle will also be in Salaar.”

Theertha Subhash’s parents also confirmed that she got it wrong because she kept hearing Yash’s name while talking about ‘KGF’.

Ever since ‘Salaar’ was announced, there have also been rumours that the film is a remake of Prashanth Neel’s movie ‘Ugramm’.

Producer Vijay Kiragandur recently put these rumours to rest, stating that the film was a completely original story and not a remake.

‘Salaar’ is set in the fictional city of Khansaar, which sees a change of power from father to son. However, when a coup is planned to overthrow the family, the son seeks the help of his childhood friend to restore peace in the city.

For the unversed, 'Salaar' was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on September 28, but it was postponed due to delay in post-production work.

For the unversed, ‘Salaar’ will be releasing in two parts and the first part is titled ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’. Backed by Hombale Films, ‘Salaar’ is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 400 crore and is produced by Vijay Kiragandur.

Apart from Prabhas, ‘Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire’ also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu.

Earlier, it was revealed that ‘Salaar’ has been granted an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It has also surfaced that ‘Salaar’ will have a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes.
